I also have a similar question on traveling abroad for 4 weeks with my 485 pending.
As you all know that when we applied our 485 AOS (EB-based) we had to also submit the copy of our latest 1-94 card (which I did). Now that I am leaving the US, I will be handing over the original 1-94 at the port of exit (a copy of which was submitted with the 485 application). Then when returing, I will be receiving another new 1-94. So my questions:
(a) Will I have to re-send the INS another copy of my new 1-94 when I return to the US (b) also might surrendering the old 1-94 and getting new one confuse my 485 records with the INS (c) Finally, do any of you know of anyone who with 485 pending, a valid H1B visa, and no Advanced Parole has had any problems returning back to the US?
Please advise, and that would be so appreciated. Regards.

First off it is Alien REGISTRATION number and you can find it on the newer I-140 approvals OR you can use your OPT EAD card A# if you were ever on an F1.
IT IS NOT your passport number and it is issued by the USCIS. If you dont have it check with ur lawyer. If you are not sure pls leave it blank.

I went by my EAD expiration date and filed both EAD and AP renewals but only after filing , I saw my AP expiry date is mor ethan 120 days away .I am really worried abt this .I received my receipt notices but no birometrics yet.

The country quota extends to all the nations and is not specific to few countries (India, China....) UK, Germany, France have country limits too, its just that their countries are not oversubscribed like India, China...
Country quota has no place in employment based green card system. The skill set that I have and that my employer seeks has nothing to do with the country that I was born in!
Congress got country limits into immigration b'se they want to limit # of people immigrate from single country, but the AC1 gave spillover provisions.

As Per my knowledge it is not nessesary that all approved I140's will have a A#.
Senior members please correct me if i am wrong. Also i would appreciate if you can explain what is the criteria to get a A# in case of approved I140.

Generally spouses won't have this until they get the 485 receipt so they can leave it blank in the 485 application but the principle applicant should have from the 140.

The lobbying firm might help us with a few pointers, but getting an appointment should not be affected by that.
It would be Much easier to know our material and then get an appointment. Say we get an appointment for an earlier date, and we're not ready, it's not going to look very professional. We'll probably have one shot at this, let's do it right.

Hi Everyone... sorry for cross posting. My original post was in other thread at http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=346646&postcount=37 but it seem to have got lost under radar and the thread title was kind of misnomer for my question.
Anyway, I have prepared my EAD renewal forms for paper file. i am not sure what documents to attach.
The official I 765 instruction seem to ask for only copy of previous EDS (Front+ back) and photographs.
Do i need to add anything other than this?
Top of the previous EAD mailers maybe?
Also, if I am sending forms for me and my wife in the same fedex envelop, can I combine the payment in one check or do I need to attach separate check for each application packet? Also, who do I write the checks to? USCIS form instruction mentions DHS, our sticky in this form says USCIS. I am not sure.

Due to lawfirm change /company merger situation I missed filing these earlier and am left with only 70 days on EAD so need to get this out today if possible.

I'm holding Bachelor's Degree from India and have 9 years of full time experience (6 years with previous employers + 3 years with current employer). Last year my employer initiated a process to file PERM. My employer had given all the specific details to our attorney firm to file my case in EB2. But our attorney screwed up everything and filed my case in EB3. My EB3 labor is approved (Section H, PERM job for Bachelors + 2 years of experience). I'm planning to file I140 with this EB3 PERM to facilitate my H1B extensions,etc.
Right now, my employer says that he can initiate another PERM with EB2 and later when we file I140 for the EB2 labor, we can make use of EB3's PD after its I140 approval. I understand that it has to be a different position for EB2. If we follow this case, at what stage I need to use my EB3's PD to port. I mean, do I need to have my EB3 I140 approved before filing EB2 PERM or have only when filing EB2 I140.
My another question is, how risky is this? I mean having applied for EB3 and EB2 from the same employer. What kinda repercussions we're heading into? What are the possiblities of getting audited for EB2 PERM ( I didn't get any audit for my EB3 PERM).
Do you think it's better to transfer visa to someone else after my EB3 I140's approval and start a fresh EB2 PERM from that employer?

I am working on EAD now, which is valid through 07/06/2012.
I have got a job offer from one of the top fortune 500 company recently. They are offering the job with a role of "Lead Technical Architect".
Following are the details from my labor:
Job Title: Programmer/ Analyst/Systems, Software/Engineer/Developer, or Related to IT
Reponsibility:
develop, create and modify general computer application software. Analysis user needs and design, develop software solutions. Design, develop, analyse and implement software and end user product. Coordinate various account projects with IT consultants; nurture close relationship with the major account customers by providing quality technical support and apply principles of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis.
From the generic nature of the role resonsibility, I feel that the "Lead technical Architect" role will not be a misfit with the requirement of "Similar resposibility".
Can you kindly let me know if you see any violation of the EAD porting requirement in terms of similar responsibilities?

You need to check SOC codes for both the roles and confirm
In general english an Analyst role is different than an Architect role. In any case, to use AC21 your roles should not be different by more than 50 %

Frist's enforcement only bill will be very popular in the house, but is unlikely to pass the senate. There seems to be quite a few republican senators (Specter, Mccain, Graham, Brownback to name a few) who might vote against any bill which is not "comprehensive". They along with the dems easily have more than 50 votes to block. Now, even if Frist's passes senate, it has to be reconciled with the house version - there are plenty of vocal anti EB folks there and hardly anyone pro. So if push comes to shove, Frist would probably agree to drop the EB provisions and pass rest of the bill , so that he can take credit and hit the '08 presidential campaign trail.
Specter's will easily pass the senate, will be a miracle if it passes the house - senate conference commitee in its present form. The only hope is all the attention will be on the amnesty provisions and negotiations surrounding that, and the EB part of it will fly under the radar.

No.3 and 4 are my favorites.....but No. 4 is the one I wud choose as best. I like the touch of green and the sky is superb. Horizon Line is straight on. The pic is sharp all around, but what really catches me when I first viewed the picture is the "bolt" in the fence.

Thanks a lot for the links snathan. Is it possible to return to India at any stage of GreenCard processing and then come back to India once the EAD is approved.
