samsung is #2 patents holdings in USA. apple barely broke into top 50 recently.
$$ and patents holdings tell me it won't be so easy for apple.
However, look at the profits and Apple makes around the same or more than the entire Samsung conglomerate with 1/5 the workforce.

Apple, please, put Blu-ray drives in Macs! At least as an option.
We need them for handy backups of audio, images and video taking lots of GB.
BR drives costs 1000$ (cheap ones) and disks no less than 40$. You can buy over 3 TB of reusable/reliable/much faster HD Storage in that amount. I think that should be more than enough for any backups.

Apple needs to learn to work with publishers.
I spend about a third of my daily iPad time reading the FT every morning. If the app gets pulled or no longer works (because Apple insists on getting their cut of my annual subscription), I will make the very easy decision to get an Android tablet next.
Same goes for my Economist and WSJ apps. Combined, I probably spend 75% of my time on my iPad reading these publications. Take them away, and I'm gone.
My loyalty is to the publisher and the quality of their material. It is NOT to Apple. And one less iPad owner also means one less App store and/or iTunes customer.
Apple should tread very lightly here.

The less a corporation knows about me the better. I am not in favor of giving my personal information away. But you believe apple should succumb to a no choice collection of this data simply because a corporation demands it? Your easy.
Bankers and Corporations run this world and they dont have a "flower power, I love your grandma and children" attitude. Just look at what the banks did. Look at how the government responded. Now you want to give corps even more control by taking away choice?
You say you'll go to Android, which i think is a bit poetic. The definition of Android means "Robot with a Human Appearance", and the government/bankers/corporations just love that mindset :D matter of fact, im sure thats how they see all of us. I know this sounds like a personal attack but it isnt. Its a rant on the relationship between the people, their government and the bankers/corporations. If apple wants to provide choice as to whether i give out my personal info, im cool with that. Grateful actually.

Yes, it is possible. I don't know how to do it on a Mac, but for Windows, you need to make and image of the DVD using DVD Decrypter and then encode it in xvid using AutoGK.

I just d/led the newest build from webkit and it is really a great improvement. It is very fast and responsive and is not a memory hog. I encourage you to try it out.
I never been happy with safari. But this newest build, 419.3, suprised me.

Who needs a new iphone every year? Let alone every 2 years? I just got an iphone 4 and it's so much more advanced than certainly any phone that I've ever had (and probably more advanced than most phones out there), that I don't see anyone needing to replace it ever unless it brakes.

I wanted an app that would show me the current month and following month's calendars in a small window, for when I'm planning the next couple of week's activities. I found it as CalendarCenter (http://www.macdev.ca/macos/Freeware.html) from MacDev.ca. It's not elegant but it does just the one trick I wanted. I downloaded the Sling Plug-in for Mac off the Slingbox site. When I click to start the installer that downloaded it pops up a box that "ask you to close Safari"??? while the installer is approx one minute from finishing the install and then it locks the progress bar..........when you close Safari as requested it then cancels the install and gives "Installation Failed" message ( well duh; I am forced to close the internet browser)
