cake boss cakes prices cake boss cakes prices. cakeeric_n_dfwOct 28, 06:00 PMAPPLE, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AGAIN!!! Apple made a big mistake not licensing Mac OS 22 years ago allowing clones. Otherwise Mac OS X would be now the mainstream operating system. Now history repeats. Apple has now the oppotunity to take over and beat Windows. But for that it is absolutely essential to allow Mac OS X to run on ANY PC out there. Why does Apple make the same mistake? Even more, if Apple would open Mac OS X completely including Aqua and give it for free as Linux, then Windows would be history in a few months!!! Apple, are you listening? I'd love to be able to legally install OS X on a Dell or build-it-myself PC, even it it wasn't $0, but Apple would tank in no time as they make the lion's share of their money selling hardware. Especially when Dell's can sell this cheap: Is one MacBook Pro C2D worth two Dells? (http://blog.dealnews.com/?p=75) And, from the look AAPL stock prices lately, I'd say they are doing just fine making their current "same mistake" right now.cake boss wedding cakes pricesJoshwawilsonMay 4, 03:59 PMInteresting how none of the scenes in the ad uses a white iPad. Hummm... hardly from what I've seen. I know in my industry, iPads ares starting to be integrated into production systems for monitoring and control purposes. Plus, I have seen doctors using them. Yes... they are a great toy. But the portability make them great for light duty tasks in business. I used to use Thursby DAVE for my networking needs in OSX before apple started to provide a more robust (though problematic) set of networking tools. When I used that app, I had little problems having OSX access window's files. I am comparing OSX to Windows vs. Windows to Windows because 99% of my networking needs is accessing files on a windows machine, whether its on a home pc, or an enterprise server, or workstation. I'm not sure what bugs I could report to apple, other then stating its slow. I don't think so, perhaps my post was not worded as clearly as it could have been. My point was that networking with windows to windows is easier and windows has an advantage there. given that the companies I've dealt with, they're mostly a windows shop. My point there then is using windows to access the resources is easier, faster and has less headaches. The only reason I'd asked for OSX<->Windows vs Windows<->Windows was that the problem could lie in Windows as well. But in my experience, I haven't had any issues. Maybe you should've gone asked the Apple Support Forums about it. Not very sure if you would have gotten a straight answer, though. I would say that networking is easier but I myself have seen issues with consistency in connecting to shared servers. But this had gotten much much better with 10.6.2/3. Because aren't the current UB's for Intel and PPC? Please tell me they wont. I don't wnat to have to wait again for new UB's No. The AMD processors we're talking about have the same instruction set as the Intel processors Apple is currently using; in fact, the 64 bit extensions were written by AMD, not Intel (Intel's original 64-bit solution is Itanium, which on the seamier side of the computer trade - for instance, in the Register - is called the Itanic, because it is still sinking; eventually, Intel was forced to adopt AMD's extensions because the architecture is more compatible with the Pentium/x86 architecture). Such a switch would be comparable in terms of technological impact to the switch from IBM for the G3 to Motorola for the G4, and then to IBM for the G5. Now, if Apple switched to Intel Itanium or (if it were ever released again) the Digital Alpha, yes, a new form of Universal Binary would be needed. I suspect that the Cell processor is not completely compatible with the G5, so it's possible that a switch to Cell would require a new form of UB, too.saxamoophoneApr 29, 04:41 PMWirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5) So will ipad3 or ipad4 will be running MAC OS X??nosenSep 28, 11:19 AMI wonder what the hold up is with releasing this update? :opakyoohApr 12, 04:25 PMAmazon.. around $8.. In terms of devices for the masses, Apples been in a lull. They need to keep pulling rabitts out of the hat to impress people and drive sales. The iPods and iTunes are tops but eventually they've got to address the biggest iPod issue and that's battery life. It's poor even for the flashed based units. I listen to my iPod mostly at night. Granted the sound quality is not equal, but I cab get at least 4, 8-hour nights out of one AA battery in a RIO S10, 256K (or something), but only 2 nights out of a 1 gig shuffle or 4 gig Mini. There are from time to time fixes that are noticed in Darwin and ported back to FreeBSD by others, but Apple have a history of not getting involved with the projects from where they take code. The stuff about the kernel is especially weird, that's still the area where Apple and FreeBSD differ the most. Interesting. The Minis are tough, the Nanos feel cheap and don't take the same beating as a Mini. Considering the Mini is HD based and the Nano is flash based I think that says something. I (personally) don't care about a video iPod, I'd much prefer a Nano with video cappability as the video would only be a time filler for me waiting for appointments, etc. As to "It's Showtime!" I'm afraid the general Apple/Mac population may be dissapointed. I have no inside information, simply a feeling based on what has or hasn't been said in the many forums. Other manufactures, especially Sony seem to be able to get incredible battery life. Really? Dude. I haven't once suggested banning guns. These days I'd be satisfied with a hint of awareness. I think any talk of a blanket ban is pure folly and ignores the reality of the situation. Since there has been no talk of a "blanket ban" you have little to fear. Part of the reason the debate is "broken" is we seem to have a difficult time hearing what is being said.proteinas_final.jpgTallGuy1970May 3, 02:17 PMExactly why do we care about the Android app market on macrumors.com?! :mad:proteinas.bikertwinSep 25, 04:22 PMAperture's development also is going slow. Apple pulling out the software? Huh? 1.5 is a huge update. It's interesting that most of the new features in the version 1.x's of Aperture deal with core functionality (raw conversion in 1.1, and file location with 1.5). This is core stuff that Aperture has to have nailed down before it does fancier stuff like layered editing. Apple is absolutely going in the right direction with this. And at a very rapid pace. It's not even a year old! Perhaps all the developers are spending too much time on Leopard and Logic 8 at the moment. Uh, I doubt the Aperture development team has anything to do with Leopard or Logic at all. Not sure what hat you pulled that out of. :confused:Proteínas fosfatasas de origeninkswampMay 3, 05:43 PMAnd why is this on mac rumors. Does it really matter what the competition does. Why is there always someone doing this? Does nobody go by the old netiquette rule of lurking on a site for a while to get a feel for things before posting? I assume you haven't taken the time to fully absorb what this site is about. It goes beyond just Mac rumors. Go back through the archives of the site and you'll see. MR has always posted significant updates about direct competitors to Apple products as well as news concerning the tech industry that could impact Macs and iOS users. It's nothing new. Oh, and welcome to the site. :)proteinas. proteínaWillisApr 15, 07:54 PMNot a bad design... images are shoddy but, I wouldn't mind my next iPhone to be like thatLas proteínas poseen unakiljoy616Jul 22, 11:54 PMOh my god... did Apple seriously just make pointing fingers apart of their campaign? I thought they were above that! I understand that it's unfair that the other companies do that and all, but Apple really doesn't need to stoop to their level, do they? They are still a company not a dam Religion so no they are not above it all. Or do you think that other companies already are not preparing some kind of marketing around the problem. That said, this generation of iphone will have this problem and that just something we have to live with if we want the look of the iphone.Hernandez D: ProteinaseternlgladiatorApr 8, 11:48 AMI've been waiting all week for this to finally become available. Their extreme hypocrisy and superiority complex that causes them to go into denial in so many cases. They stonewall and refuse to operate in a candid & open way with customers. Instead they practice silently hiding as many of their issues as possible. Apples one true area of brilliance is their masterful art of marketing. In the finest example of typical American deceptive advertising, Apple describes their products as "magical & revolutionary". What a crock. They can't or won't even build a cool running MBP, after years on the market. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1105643 I won't get into a furball over your post. Which large tech company operates in a candid & open way with customers? The one's that license out their OS and dont give a sweet damn about User Experience, beyond what the absolute lowest sticker price will allow. Right? No? Yay! XDHighlandAug 2, 11:45 AMIn terms of Apple's DRM however, I think you'll find that each type of DRM is a platform. Much like CDs, cassettes, and so on. I can't play vinyl in my CD player, however I can make a recording of the output, much as I can burn a CD from iTunes of iTMS purchased music. There's two important things here though... what you can do, and what you can do legally. Plus, any "red book" CD can be played on any CD player. And anyone who wants can make a CD. That's not the case with Fairplay (the iTunes DRM), or pretty much any DRM on the market right now. And Lyra... OMG. You don't seem to have any grasp of the situation and are pretty keen on making some very insulting remarks. To suggest Apple (or any other online store) drop a region just because they can't be bullied into changing their local laws to suit a large multinational company is completely insane. You're loco. And just so everyone knows, I'm not from the US or the EU. I'm not taking sides, and I'm not getting involved in the "my country is worth more to iTMS than yours". ;) As others have mentioned, these things have a tendency to act as test cases. Once one country sorts this out, others will follow.dalvin200Sep 12, 02:51 AMFrom engadget (as i couldn't be bothered to look them up myself :P) 7:00AM - Hawaii 10:00AM - Pacific 11:00AM - Mountain 12:00PM - Central 1:00PM - Eastern 5:00PM - GMT 6:00PM - London 7:00PM - Paris 2:00AM - Tokyo (September 13th) i think the same question about start times across the world is gonna be asked a LOT today! maybe someone needs to put this in a more visible position? proteinas de introduci PROTEINAS sobolobo Jul 24, 08:45 AM I also doubt that this thing will break the iPod's dominance in the market, however the...
